Finally got away mid morning on the 30th.
A wonderful first night in Toowoomba with our good friends the Potters. Ian was invited to stay and help out with the renovations...had to decline!
Next stop at Wallumbilla show grounds just outside Roma. 4 degrees in the morning!
Emerald on the third night after showing the kids Fairbairn Dam, our old schools and accommodation.
Lucked out on the Emerald Rodeo that night. A first and fantastic experience for as all.
Next morning caught up with Jo and Errol Rosenblatt local (ex) teachers Jodie had taught with.Headed off to the gem fields. Went on an underground mine tour and had fun fossicking for sapphires.
Chloe found a keeper and we are having it cut and made into a pendant... a real momento for her.
A good trip to Longreach today including veiwing the BarcaldineTree of Knowledge and a very relaxing swim in the Artesian Hot Springs at Ilfracombe.
On the road at last eh? Excellent, and a blog to boot. Might have to do something similar when we get moving again. Have fun and take it slow. Remember, happiness is a journey, not a destination.

Hi Guys, so happy to enjoy the journey with you. We have decided to plot your journey on a map here. Maybe it wil guide us on our own trip one day.
ReplyDeleteHi ... as Willie Nelson sang "On the Road again". It is a great feeling isn't it? Ian, I might add, your Great-great grandfather was probably a Romany Gypsy, and that is where you get the wanderlust via caravan from. Of course, in those days, they had a caravan, but it was pulled by horses, and they probably only traveled about 16 km per day ( on a good day, that is.)! We will enjoy reading about your trip as you go. Lots of love .. Mum & Tony.
ReplyDeleteYay!! What a super idea having a blog page. Jasmine says "When did they have time to set all that up?!" Gaby says "Set all what up? Have they gone somewhere?"......? So happy you're having a great time. Looking forward to seeing more photos and hearing all about your amazing adventures. Mikaela says "Miss you Chloe!!!!!"
